  • Position Overview

    Services for the UnderServed (SUS) is a New York-based nonprofit organization that provides housing and support services to 25,000 individuals and their families living in New York City and Long Island.  SUS believes every New Yorker has the right to lead a life of purpose.

    Position Summary: The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) will coordinate all aspects of persons receiving services in order to ensure proper clinical documentation and billing documentation in accordance with OPWDD regulations.



    1. Ensures the implementation of SUS policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements as set forth by OPWDD
    2. Coordinates and conducts reviews of individuals  status/progress including an assessment of risks to individual ’s rights and protection, as required
    3. Attend all 60-Day meetings and complete meeting Minutes within 10 business days.
    • Should be available in clinical file books no later than 11th day following the meeting.

    • Should be available for mailing by no later than the 11th day following the meeting.

    1. Oversees and monitors annual IDT calendars.
    • Assuring that invitations are being mailed out.

    • Meetings are being held according to schedule.

    1. Ensures the follow-up of recommendations stemming from reviews/special meetings
    2. Develops and implements goal programming and activity schedules
    3. Monitors data collection on an ongoing basis
    4. Ensures all interactions support the core values and mission of the agency
    5. Participates in audits
    6. Ensure Medicaid document Compliance
    •  Assuring all individuals clinical time is accurate.

    • Assuring all individuals attendance is accurate.

    • Assuring accurate amount of billing is reflected as F/T or P/T and is supported by documentation.

    • Assuring all necessary signatures are present.

    • Assuring all dates are accurate.


    1. Reviews and maintains electronic records to support billing
    2. Reviews and approves Medicaid Billing Documents
    3. Maintains Billing Accuracy and Submission of Quality Improvement Reports
    • Complete all necessary billing corrections.

    • Submit responses to QA, Medicaid billing review.

    • Make all necessary corrections to billing as required by Coordinator of Day Services, QA or Fiscal Department

    1. Additional responsibilities as assigned as needed by Director and/or Coordinator, e.g. committee participation, in-service training for the agency, attendance at special meetings, etc.

    • Bachelors degree in a related field.
    • Minimum four years' experience working with disabilities and progressive supervisory expereince in MR/DD or related fields.
    • Ability to write and revise Day Habilitation Plans
    • Well-organized and able to communicate with all levels of management.
    • Willing to advocate on the consumer’s behalf.
    • Day Hab Medicaid Billing experience, preferred.
